About Weekday Meal Prep
Weekday Meal Prep is dedicated to helping everyday people take control of their nutrition through smart,
sustainable weekly meal planning and healthy batch cooking. Our mission is to make wholesome eating
accessible, affordable, and genuinely enjoyable — even on the busiest schedules. We believe that a
well-prepared kitchen is the foundation of a healthier, happier life.
Our Story
Weekday Meal Prep was born out of a deeply familiar frustration: standing in front of the refrigerator
at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening, exhausted after work, with no clear plan for dinner and a growing temptation
to just order takeout again. For millions of people, that moment repeats itself every single week. It was
exactly that cycle — the stress, the wasted groceries, the guilt, and the expense — that inspired us to
build something better.
Founded in Austin, Texas in 2021, this site started as a small personal project. After years of working
with clients who struggled not with the desire to eat well, but with the time and structure required to
actually do it, our founder recognized a genuine gap in the online nutrition space. There were plenty of
recipe blogs and fitness sites, but very few resources dedicated specifically to the practical, weekly
systems that make healthy eating a realistic habit rather than a short-lived resolution.
What began as a handful of beginner-friendly batch cooking guides quickly grew into a comprehensive
resource covering everything from Sunday prep routines and macro-balanced meal plans to budget grocery
lists and storage tips. Our audience grew organically because the content was grounded in real
experience — not trends or fads, but practical strategies that genuinely fit into modern life.
Today, Weekday Meal Prep serves readers across the country who are looking for reliable, no-nonsense
guidance on eating well without sacrificing hours of their week. Every article, guide, and meal plan
published on this site is crafted with one goal in mind: to make your Monday-through-Friday a little
easier and a lot more nourishing.
Meet the Expert
Ryan Caldwell – Certified Nutritionist & Former Personal Chef
Ryan Caldwell is the lead voice and primary content creator behind Weekday Meal Prep. A certified
nutritionist and former personal chef, Ryan has spent over a decade at the intersection of culinary
skill and evidence-based nutrition. His career began in professional kitchens, where he developed a
deep respect for ingredient quality, flavor balance, and the efficiency that comes from cooking in
volume. That kitchen discipline translated naturally into the world of meal preparation.
Over the course of his nutrition practice, Ryan has helped more than 500 clients transform their
eating habits through strategic meal preparation — working with busy professionals, parents, athletes,
and individuals managing specific dietary needs. He understands that the biggest barrier to healthy
eating is rarely knowledge; it is time, planning, and consistency. His approach focuses on removing
friction from the process so that good choices become the easy choices.
Ryan brings that same practical, approachable philosophy to every piece of content on this site. When
he is not developing new meal prep frameworks or testing recipes, he is consulting with clients in
Austin and continuing his education in sports nutrition and functional wellness.
Our Mission & Values
Everything published on Weekday Meal Prep is guided by a clear set of principles. These values shape
how we create content, who we partner with, and how we serve our readers.
-
Practicality over perfection: We focus on realistic strategies that fit real
schedules. A good meal prep system you actually use is always better than a perfect one you abandon
by Wednesday. -
Evidence-based nutrition: Our guidance is rooted in established nutritional science,
not viral diet trends. We prioritize balanced macronutrients, whole foods, and sustainable habits
over quick fixes. -
Accessibility and affordability: Eating well should not require a premium grocery
budget or a professional kitchen. Our content is designed to work for everyday households, with a
strong emphasis on cost-effective ingredients and straightforward techniques. -
Transparency and trust: We are honest about what works and what does not. When we
recommend a product, tool, or ingredient, it is because it genuinely earns a place in a healthy
meal prep routine — not because of a sponsorship.
